During a dispute with the Western Australia government over wheat production limits, Leonard Casley declared his sizable farm an independent province, though he remained loyal to Queen Elizabeth II. Casley's son and heir, Graeme Casley, contending with a massive debt to the Australian Taxation Office and the impact of COVID-19, finally dissolved the principality. 1970-2020

During a long-running dispute with the local council over a building permit, Paul Delprat seceded from Mosman, a suburb of Sydney. He did not claim to have seceded from New South Wales or Australia, however. 2004-
